Solid Wastes

I
t’s a shame that the City of Dallas or even the local disc golfers don’t care enough about their park to clean up a trashed stream tthat runs through BB Owens Park and eventually drains into White Rock Lake, one of the most popular recreation places in the city. I was shocked to see hundreds of pounds of plastic waste that has been DUMPED into this stream…it could not possibly be runoff from local parking lots or tributaries. One company located upstream of the park is First Floors, a carpet outlet located immediately upstream of BB Owens Park on at 10771 Estate Lane ……hmm I wonder if they know how it got there?
Many urban streams have a solid waste problem, from car frames and tires to sheet plastic, plastic bags to syringes. Ironically, there are regular volunteer clean-ups around White Rock Lake every year, but somehow they ignore the streams that drain directly into the Lake.....maybe someone should contact White Rock Lake's organization "For the Love of the Lake" or maybe EPA?
